I was able to cut through the smaller sections entirely today – the materials (formerly Ores and Materials) and concoctions (formerly Elixirs, Herbs, and Remedies) categories have been copied over with some minor expanded lore. I was also able to get most of the Economy section copied over with the exception of the legal/illegal trade routes.
I rebalanced the local currencies ever so slightly so that their conversions to essence gems as a standardized currency (similar to USD) was consistent, and expanded on some lore around the minting of essence gems as a global standard. Hopefully it makes sense and would actually function in the world, but close enough either way.
I’ve also started one my favorite sections – Historical Letters. I’ve only copied two over so far, but I loved writing these. Most of them are grim, dark, and desperate. They expand upon the more formal historical events and give a lot more life to the world. I probably won’t rewrite most of these beyond grammatical errors and typos. The joy I had in writing them is probably comparable only to the religious texts. For a time (during my theology degree), the world was slowly shaped around the Umeck to such an extent that I forgot I had created other gods. I left that bias in though as something to explore later – the creation of the races was simultaneous, but perhaps the orc gods are just a tad bit tougher behind the scenes? For the most part, I’m happy with how the letters are turning out as article pages in terms of formatting, and perhaps I’ll be able to use a similar style and format for the religious texts.
