Arcane Eclipse

The Arcane Eclipse occurred in 0:Mysts and is what ushered in the age of the Mysts. During the eclipse, magic from the Essence Weave flooded into the world as well many more spirits and demons than were previously present. Individuals from all races were finding themselves suddenly with new, mysterious abilities and inclinations. As the eclipse progressed, these new powers grew stronger. Elves became more in tune with nature and dwarven runes began to glow.

As the eclipse receded, the world was forever changed. Magic was no longer a myth told to children, it was a reality and it had just become a fundamental component of the world. Soon, magical schools and decades began showing up with many claiming to already be experts. The Magimancy eventually took charge and became the most prominent and influential of these schools. Dwarves began experimenting with their runes even more, learning how their carvings and material could change the properties and abilities of the object.
