The most devastating event in Tuyin's history occurred in 124:Discord. Although orcs can technically use magic, for some reason it is toxic to their physiology and makes the incredibly sick, often resulting in death. However, the Cult of the End, worshippers of Umore, believed that the god of the end would grant them a special exception and allow them to use magic to further his will.

The cultists believed that they could also combine their shared connection to the Essence Weave to weave even more powerful spells. When Umore's influence had reached its peak and he realized that the cult would no longer be useful, Umore managed to trigger an earthquake that shook what is now the Sundered Lands. Believing it to be a sign that Umore was ready for them to practice magic, they began their spell.

In an instant, the entire island was scorched and utterly glassed, killing the entire cult and nearly everyone on the island. Only the orcs on the coastline or offshore survived. The nation of Orsia and the orcs as a race had, at least temporarily, been wiped out.

The land itself became sick, and magic seeped into the glassy soil like a poison and it became permanently uninhabitable. Many adventurers travel to the land seeking lost relics and artifacts and do not return, and those who do come back are changed and claim to be haunted.
