It was originally Fort Ethwin, constructed as a staging ground for their failed invasion of Elori and Tuyin. Over time, the temporary camp became a fort and eventually a real town. Tents turned into more permanent homes and stockpiles turned into markets. Barracks and watchtowers filled with soldiers now guard the northern end of Pirtair and watch for any fleet, sending reports back to Castlerock of their observations daily. The homes still reflect the original staging formation as the tents, crammed together in narrow rows with narrower streets. Despite the arid environment and otherwise uneventful region, Ethwin has continued to grow as a port city and still sometimes serves as the place of planning for mercenary companies.

The Grand Archive deep below the council chambers has scrolls going back to the Age of Mysts, and many haven't been touched in millennia. The sentinels guarding the council chambers and the Grand Archive are some of the toughest dwarves underground.
 
Kazenrock's gardens are large enough to support a largely vegetarian diet, primarily consisting of large mushrooms and glowing plants.
