To Archminister Saglul,

Fort Hum stands, but only just. The Alklander siege has reached its third week, and our defenses wear thin. Their war machines thunder day and night, and the acrid stench of their black powder fills the air.

Yesterday's assault was the fiercest yet. Human battalions swarmed our eastern wall like locusts. Our archers and battle-mages fought with fury, but I fear it was not enough. The outer bailey is lost to us.

Our stores run low. The healing herbs are spent, and we draw deeply from our last barrels of clean water. The young ones weep for home, while the veterans' eyes grow hard with grim acceptance.

I implore you, send aid with all haste. The Dwarven allies you spoke of in your last missive - are they near? Without reinforcement, I fear Fort Hum may fall before the next new moon. The humans' brutality knows no bounds. They've put entire villages to the torch in their march here. We must not let their barbarism reach the heart of Elori.

May the light of Ruluko guide us.
