The ruins of the Tiocle Piub lie in the harsh deserts of Ardred. It's name means "Lingering Remnant" in Elvic. These ruins are a mystery, and it appears that its' people disappeared just at the start of the first Purge.
The Tiocle Piub carved their homes into the rock and sand itself, not quite underground but not fully on the surface either. Their water systems, though now dry, suggest that they were able to make the desert bloom at one point. The artwork adorning the ruins detail stars and desert creatures. The layout of the ruins, specifically the larger structures, seem to mimic some of the constellations. Some of the carvings have a distinctly magical feel, as if they were trying to infuse starlight or the power of the sun as an enchantment.
Relics found in the ruins raise more questions than they answer. Some bear arcane markings that seemingly have no meaning. It is clear, however, that the Tiocle Piub were a thriving people.
What intrigues scholars the most is their sudden and unexplained collapse. The ruins stop abruptly, as if the entire civilization just got up and left. Was it the first Purge that destroyed them, or did something else happen?
