The Extili Forests are ancient. The trees are massive with bark as thick as some ratori huts. The forest floor is covered by a thick layer of moss and ferns and the entire forest has an earthy smell to it. The paths within the forest twist and turn and it is not uncommon for travelers to be lost for weeks or more. At night, the forest comes alive. Plants glow in the dark and funguses radiate a gentle blue light in the sunset.
In addition to the foxes, deer, jackalopes, and birds that inhabit the forest, small tribes of satyrs and kinnaras also live within the forest depths. Deep in the heart of the forests is a nexus, a wellspring of magic. The satyrs and kinnaras guard the nexus as if it is the beating heart of the forest.
