Berane'eq

From Tuyin Archives

Berane'eq is the sole god of the atpians and is a curious deity. While the other gods have immense power, Berane'eq is more of a jack-of-all-trades and he is known for his ability to mimic the powers of the other gods, though with less potency and willpower.

The atpians do not see Berane'eq as a weaker god, however but instead see his versatility and ability to adapt as a reflection of their own spirit and need to adapt within their swampy, ever-shifting home. Atpians do not depict Berane'eq as a grand or imposing figure, but simply taking on new forms as time passes. The atpians do not endorse rigid, unchanging teachings or give sermons but instead honor Berane'eq in their ability to read the subtle signs of nature. Their priests guide them through life's changes with a simple, quiet wisdom.

Berane'eq doesn't have any large temples, but rather his sacred spaces are blended into the swampy landscape and hidden - a place of quiet reflection where the atpians can connect with their god and seek his knowledge.

The Festival of Change is a celebration held within the haert of Trog'cent. The festival is filled with events that challenge the participants' adaptability and quick thinking, embodying the core characteristics of Berane'eq. The Mimic's Parade, part of the festival, sees atpians dressed up in elaborate costumes that take on the characteristics of other gods, races, creatures, and even elements of nature.
