Essence Weave

The Essence Weave is another plane of existence. It is the wellspring of all magic and the heart from which arcane energy flows through the world. It is a realm beyond what can be seen but it is all around the world and part of the very fabric of reality. Every soul and rock is part of the Essence Weave. What is seen in the world is but a glimmer of its true depth.

The colors of the Essence Weave are vibrant, with hues shifting and changing constantly. In the literal plane, there are also giant rocky peaks jutting up through the colorful mists of magic. The gods themselves reside within the Essence Weave, where they look upon the world and tug at its strings.

The Essence Weave is also teeming with spirits and demons, too. Each type is a reflection of some aspect of existence of the mortal world - echoes of nature, deep emotion, primal fears, etc. They move about in the mist, some friendly and others hostile.

The gods, spirits, and demons often reach into the mortal world. While the gods normally only have indirect influence, spirits and demons often find ways to physically enter the world.

It is no easy feat to tap into the power and magic of the Essence Weave. Mages, clerics, and enchanters must dive deep into its mysteries using meditation, rituals, and ancient artifacts in an attempt to master its power.
