Sunstone

Sunstones are little pieces of daylight in a rock that can be held, incredibly bright and seemingly undying. Similar to starstone, harvesting them is delicate. They are extracted from shallow, rocky hillsides and even the slightest rock avalanche can snuff out their light. Sunstone can enhance spells that utilize light and energy, but most mages just use it for dramatic effect. Wealthy individuals or well-off cities will often put sunstones in their homes and government structures to provide a consistent source of light, and simply place a thick blanket over the rock when it's light is no longer needed.
