Dwarf-Ratori Contact

In 92:Mysts, a ratori caravan showed up at the gates of Kazenrock. The dwarves, only being vaguely aware of the ratori and not used to visitors showing up to their underground, largely hidden fortresses, were suspicious and cold of the caravan. The ratori were persistent, however, and brought gifts and spoke of ongoing trade routes and goods. The dwarves were stubborn and refused to open their gates even after a week. At one point, a dwarven guard misinterpreted a ratori merchant's gesture as a threat and nearly killed the ratori in perceived self-defense.

Before violence could break out, another ratori brought up a story for dwarven children - one about making friends and not being alone. Initially alarmed at how they could possibly know the story, the dwarven leaders eventually began to warm up and considered the benefits of allowing the outside world in. To this day, no one knows how the ratori knew of the children's story. What followed was a marathon of negotiations and bit by bit the gates of Kazrenrock opened up. The ratori eventually became a regular sight in the dwarven halls, bringing and taking goods and sharing news of the outside world.
