At the beginning of the world, the gods set about creating the races. Each pantheon created their own chosen people.
Atpians
Berane'eq decided to create the atpians in the murky depths of Trog'cent. At first, they were scattered about with each clan struggling to understand their environment. However, they learned fast and quickly united to form Trog'cent. Berane'eq took the most challenging environment and created a people perfectly suited for it.
Dwarves
The dwarves were forged deep in the mountains by Pekeana and Baiqul with spirits as sturdy as the stone around them. The dwarven gods blessed them with their own abilities - crafting, smithing, and a natural affinity for stone, which these two gods have a deep love for in the Essence Weave.
Elves
Ruluko and Kaqiuko created the elves in the lush forests of Tuyin. They took the very essence of the ancient trees and shaped the elves from it, leaving their fates deeply intertwined. In the beginning, the elves kept to themselves writing books and living in the forest, but eventually they began forming alliances and assembling networks of communication all across Tuyin's forests.
Humans
Humans were formed by the will of Carthana, Tinbas, and Ingtu. Carthana granted them kindness, Tinbas luck, and Ingtu courage. While the other races had specific characteristics that gave them certain advantages, the gods of humanity wanted a more balanced race that was more determined and resilient than other races even if they did not excel in anything naturally.
Orcs
In the wild, untamed heart of what is now known as the Sundered Lands, Umbal and Umkebiku began building their race of orcs to be as tough and bold as the land itself. The orcs were placed into the world immediately ready to take on their unforgiving environment. They initially kept to themselves in clustered tribes, nomadic and constantly roaming. The scattered tribes eventually came together formed settlements, eventually forming the first unification of Orsia after several violent wars and skirmishes.
Ratori
Nowmaak, Sansamaak, and Pamaak worked together to develop the ratori people. Nowmaak gave them the gift of prosperity - a ratori can always see where to look for opportunity. Sansamaak gave them wanderlust, a desire to travel the world and roam. Pamaak gave the ratori a shrewd intellect and instinct for negotiation. Before any other race had even established permanent cities, the ratori were already developing rudimentary trade routes and markets.
Serpents
The serpents were created to be a mysterious race. Ralnafelats imbued them with cunning and Masnits made sure that they could slither through their watery home effortlessly. They took to their misty, rain-soaked islands without hesitation. Their gods were constantly influencing them and early theocratic governments quickly emerged.
